The CANCER + Conversation Series aims to explore cancer-related topics via intersectional, informative, and accessible panels of experts. These talks have been moderated by Elena Lindstrom and served as her capstone project in the Humane Education M.A. program offered by Antioch University New England and the Institute for Humane Education. Elena received her undergraduate degree from Macalester College and has since worked in various non-profit settings, from youth enrichment programs to higher education. She was diagnosed with grade 3 brain cancer in June 2022 at age 27 and feels immense gratitude to her care team, family, and friends for all the support she has received. Elena lives in the Chicago area with her husband and cat companion. She loves food, movies, music, and exercise, and most enjoys spending time with loved ones.
